The minimal rear-swing radius Hydraulic excavator has been gaining such positive reputation not only in Japan but also in the United States and Europe due to its safety rating and ease of operation. It works well at regular construction as well as at tight space operations such as pluming and road construction, causing less jamming accidents. This model was categorized as a global standard and developed as a strategic product.

Due to its compact design, the Minimal rear-swing radius Hydraulic excavator tended to compare unfavorably with regular models in stability, comfort, and work efficiency. PC228US changed the trend and gained stability by using heavier cast iron counter weight. It also achieved higher work efficiency and hauling power by 10% even compared to the standard model (PC200-6) at that time.

Having the function of economy mode that generated less carbon dioxide and a 99% recycling rate, it met the 2003 2nd regulation for gas emission in Japan, the United States, and Europe.

Hydraulic excavator OPEN

Since its first emergence in 1951, it took only 50 years for the hydraulic shovel to establish its primary position on construction sites worldwide. Its size ranges from mini to super size depending on the scale of construction, and during the half century, it kept evolving by achieving a minimum rear-swing radius and adapting styles that would work with characteristics of each site. Mirroring the movement of a human hand, a hydraulic shovel will continue to evolve during the 21st century.
