1970
Since this era, the focus of domestic demand gradually started shifting from bulldozers to hydraulic shovels. Additional considerations, such as ease of operation, also became an important aspect of design.
This was a model change for GD37 class. For this series, the number at the end of the product name stood for weight and the size of engine output instead of the blade length. The upper picture is GD605A, and "A" means "articulated". The lower picture is GD600R, and "R" means "rigid".
Productivity was improved by upgrading engine horsepower and installing controlling components with the hydraulic booster reduced operator stress.
Other Equipment
There were other construction machines built by Komatsu over the years. We can see how the various designs mirrored different eras if we look at them set against the flow of history.
